Additional Support for Learning

Individualised Educational Programme

An individualised educational programme (IEP) is a planning mechanism to support pupils who require individualised learning targets. An IEP contains the targets to be achieved by the child or young person and, where appropriate, information from a supporting learning profile can inform and complement the targets and information in the IEP.

The IEP sets out the criteria that indicate whether a target has been met or not, the resources and methods required and responsibilities of all involved. This allows staff to plan for progression and to monitor the effectiveness of learning and teaching.
