2007 Edinburgh Achievement Awards

Welcome to the 2007 Standard Life Edinburgh Achievement Awards

The Standard Life Edinburgh Achievement Awards were created to recognise and celebrate success and innovation. They are open to projects and initiatives involving staff and carers throughout the Children and Families department.

Categories

This year there are six categories:

Creative Approaches

Applicants in this category should demonstrate flexible and innovative ways of working that foster potential, encourage a creative and enterprising spirit and strive to achieve positive goals and outcomes.

Opportunities for All

Projects in this category encourage inclusion and/or challenge stereotypes and discrimination. Applicants should demonstrate how they reach out to a diverse range of groups or individuals within the city.

Quality of Life

Projects in this category focus on promoting healthy minds and healthy bodies. Successful applicants may work with individuals or groups in the fields of health, learning, sport and social care. You or your team's area of interest may be drug or alcohol awareness, self-esteem, nutrition or fitness - any area that supports and promotes wellbeing.

Global Citizens

This category recognises individuals or groups who make a difference to their own lives or the lives of others. Projects in this category support meaningful and rewarding participation in the local or global community.  Projects may focus on improving local or global environments, fair trade or sustainable futures.  They should also encourage the development of participant’s knowledge, life skills, abilities, teamwork and confidence.

Integrated Service Delivery

Applicants should demonstrate how integrated working between staff from different disciplines within the department has positively impacted on the lives or experiences of children and families within the city.

Partnerships in Practice

Many Children and Families department staff deliver services by working in partnership with a variety of external organisations and practitioners. Applicants in this category should demonstrate how a partnership between Children and Families staff and others has successfully benefitted individuals or groups.
