INTRODUCTION The information on these pages provide general advice to schools regarding the development of school web sites. A departmental policy is currently under development which will provide specific guidelines including information relating to Quality of Information, Design and Presentation, Safety Issues and Technical Issues. These will available shortly. School web sites should be hosted on the Department's external web server. A web site address (URL) which follows the UK schools' convention has been registered for each school (www.schoolname.edin.sch.uk). Before proceeding with a web site, schools are advised to discuss the above issues with the Intranet Development Officer.
