This issue focuses on the Consultation on the Organisational Review, HR Questions and Answers and an update on the CLD review.
A report went to the Council meeting on 21 February informing Councillors that the Director of Children and Families plans to consult with staff and stakeholders on a new management structure for the Children and Families Department.
This update focuses on the Organisational Review Proposals, the outcome of the CLD consultation and trying to answer your questions about managing staff reductions.
The following policies are referred to in the above FAQ document:

Please note this consultation ended on 11th Feb
The Organisational Review Board has agreed the initial proposals for CLD and they are now available for consultation. View the Consultation Paper (Word, 172kB)
We can now begin a full consultation on the proposals for CLD and their implications. I'd like to stress that at this stage these are proposals only and this is your opportunity to express your views about them.
The proposals potentially have an impact beyond CLD so even if you are not in this service area please take time to read the proposals and give us your feedback.
Your comments will be listened to and a summary of the feedback will accompany the report setting out the proposals to the meeting of Council on 21 February where final decisions will be made.
We are particularly interested in your views about the impact of these proposals on service delivery and any suggestions that you may have about how to achieve the savings with less impact on service delivery.
You can give feedback individually or collectively and either through your line manager or directly to Gillian MacKenzie. The deadline for comments is 11 February and these will all be collated into a summary that will accompany the Council report.
In addition, Community Learning and Development Managers will be organising face to face meetings for CLD staff w/c 28 January on a neighbourhood basis and there will also be an opportunity to comment at these meetings. A meeting is also being organised for Centre Management Committees and discussions are ongoing with the Trade Unions.
We are keen that this Update is shared as widely as possible. Please ensure copies are available on public notice boards and pass copies on to stakeholders.
The options for Departmental Management arrangements, Neighbourhood Services Management arrangements, Working Together Management and Services, Youth Services and Discretionary Services are still under consideration and will go to the Council on 21 February prior to consultation with staff. A final decision on these proposals is likely to be taken at a Council Meeting in March.
We have received feedback from some staff that there is clarity needed about what falls under the Organisational Review and what relates to other areas of work like the Shared Services Project and other Council Efficiency Programmes.
We have prepared a briefing paper that outlines the different programmes currently taking place.
