Football

The City of Edinburgh Children & Families Department has now been working in partnership with the Scottish Football Association for over eight years. The aims of the programme have remained mostly unchanged in this time with activities organised to encourage participation and interest in the game, not only in player participation and development but also in areas such as coaching and administration.

Activities that the programmes offers include:

Soccer Sevens

Football players

Soccer Sevens is a modified version of football played on a smaller football park with modified goalposts and straightforward rules.

4v4

Come and play 4v4 football

The 4 v 4 Football Centre allows boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 12 to come and play in a fun football environment. The sessions are conducted by SFA Coaches who set up various 4 v 4 games giving players the opportunity to develop and express their skills.

The next sessions start in September 2008.

Midnight League

Bank of Scotland Midnight League

Five and Seven-a-side football centres for 12-16 year olds. Participate weekly at a local venue. Everyone will have an opportunity to participate in a National Final on the completion of all matches.
